Trends aren’t the enemy.
Used well, they can:
Add freshness
Bring energy
Keep a space feeling current
The problem isn’t the trend. It’s how it’s applied.

Start With Your Home — Not the Trend
Before bringing anything in, ask:
Does this fit the architecture?
Does this align with how we live?
Does this connect with the rest of the home?
If the answer is no, it doesn’t matter how popular it is.
Use Trends in Flexible Places
If something might change over time, it should be easy to update.
Great places for trends:
Paint
Lighting
Decorative pieces
Textiles
These allow your space to evolve—without major investment.
Keep Foundations Timeless
The bigger the investment, the more restraint you want.
Think:
Cabinetry
Flooring
Major tile installations
Layout decisions
These should feel grounded, not trendy.
Don’t Stack Trends
Pick one or two directions. That’s it.
Let them support the space—not compete with each other.
Focus on Feeling, Not Features
Instead of:
“I want this tile, this light, this color…”
Think:
“I want this space to feel calm / warm / elevated.”
That shift changes everything.
Edit Ruthlessly
This is the step most people skip.
Just because something works… doesn’t mean it belongs.
The best spaces aren’t filled.
They’re curated.
The TRAY Approach
We don’t apply trends. We interpret them.
Using what enhances the space—and leaving the rest behind.
The Goal Isn’t to Avoid Trends
It’s to use them in a way that still feels right years from now.
If You Want a Space That Feels Current... Without Feeling Temporary
We’ll help you find that balance.
